Gas heater accident: 6-year-old dies in house fire

A boy was killed while his sister was seriously injured when their house caught fire in Mufti Abad, said the police on Sunday. The blaze was a result of an accident, they added. The police quoted Asad Ali, a local jeweller, as saying he was at his shop on Saturday evening and his wife was on the ground floor while their two children were playing in a room. Six-year-old Saad Ali was cycling inside the room when he accidently knocked over the gas heater, setting the carpet and resultantly two rooms on fire. Saad and four-year-old Maham Ali sustained severe burns and were taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where Saad was pronounced dead. Maham was referred to Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad where she was admitted in the burn unit and was in critical condition till the filing of this report, according to doctors.
