Hosts Karachi Blues were left lamenting after Wapda defeated them by an innings and 82 runs on the third day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy at the National Stadium in Karachi. Blues were dismissed for 189 with Rana Naved bagging four for 54 runs.
Islamabad crush SNGPL
Islamabad hailed their bowlers after completing a deserved 73-run victory when they bowled out SNGPL for a mere 57. They were previously bowled out for 218 on day two. Nasarullah Khan was the wrecker-in-chief after destroying the opponents’ batting order with seven wickets in the innings.
ZTBL destroy Multan
ZTBL defeated Multan by nine wickets, restricting them to 227 after following-on from a first innings score of 134. ZTBL had scored 325 in the first-innings and bowler Rao Iftikhar (four for 20) led his team to victory.
Crash-landing for PIA
PIA struggled to 55 for four after bowling out Sialkot for 224. Sialkot’s attack was led by Waqas Ahmed who grabbed two quick wickets to give his team an early edge. Earlier, Sialkot’s Hafiz Majid (84) was the top-scorer in the innings.
HBL restricted
Following-on, HBL posted 265 for eight after they were bowled out for 164 by Rawalpindi. Khaqan Arsal made 62 and Aftab Khan struck 66. For Rawalpindi, Nasir Malik and Rizwan Akbar took three wickets each.
Faisalabad look strong
In reply to NBP’s impressive first-innings total, Faisalabad scored 432 for five. Asif Hussain hit a 149 and Shahid Siddiqui scored a valuable 97.
