Ban Ki-moon calls Nawaz, offers condolences over Peshawar attack

UN support resolve of Pakistani nation in this war against terror

ISLAMABAD:
United Nation Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef on Thursday and offered condolences over the tragic Peshawar incident.

While condemning the attack on Army Public school on December 16, in which 150 people including 134 children were killed, Ban said, "We support resolve of Pakistani nation in this war against terror."

Earlier, on the day of the incident, the UN secretary general had said in a statement that, “Hearts of the world go out to parents and families who have lost loved ones at horrific Peshawar attack,” adding that no cause can justify such brutality and no grievance can excuse such horror.

He further said that getting an education is every child’s right and going to school should not have to be an act of bravery.
