BAHAWALPUR: Police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested 37 people during search operations in Bahawalpur, Sadiqabad and Rajanpur. The spokesman said the brothers were from Afghanistan and had failed to produce identity papers. In Sadiqabad, DSP Syed Ali Raza Kazmi arrested 22 Afghans near Chowk Bahadurpur. He told newsmen that they, too, had failed to provide identity papers. In Rajanpur, eight Afghans were arrested from the general bus stand. Police said they were arrested as soon as they arrived from Quetta. Police also raided a seminary and arrested five people and seized banned literature from them.
