Clarification: IMF specifies Franks’ new role
The spokeswoman clarified that Franks will not be leaving the IMF and will not work at the European Central Bank.

In response to a story titled “New Role: IMF to change mission chief” published on December 21, 2014, the spokeswoman for IMF has stated that Jeffrey Franks, the current mission chief to Pakistan, has applied for a new position within the body and went through a competitive selection process before being finalised as a director of the IMF offices in Europe. The spokeswoman clarified that Franks will not be leaving the IMF and will not work at the European Central Bank. She added that Franks will continue to lead the Pakistan team through the upcoming sixth review and the selection process for a new Pakistan mission chief is under way.
