Tech-savvy: CAA launches software for billing
CAA's IT board developed & launched a software to maintain record & billing of all flights using Pakistani airspace
KARACHI:
The Information Technology Branch of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has developed and launched “Flight Information and Revenue Management System (FIRMS)”, a software meant to maintain the record and billing of all flights using Pakistani airspace.
The launching ceremony was held at CAA Headquarters Karachi. CAA Director General Air Marshal (Retd) Muhammad Yousaf praised the efforts of the IT department in launching the software. With the launching of FIRMS, the billing of all flights using Pakistani airspace has been converted into a fully automated system, which has also been linked with the air transport and management system.
CAA’s IT Branch has also designed its second software, “Airworthiness Management System (AMS)”. Implementation of ‘AMS’ will make the airworthiness certificate, inspection and monitoring procedures online, helping engineers make online entries while reporting from any airport.
