The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) on Tuesday announced it had registered complaints against 85 people for stealing electricity from various sub-divisions of FESCO region.
FESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rasheed Ahmad Aslam told The Express Tribune on Tuesday that FESCO teams had conducted raids in several sub-divisions and detected 85 sites where electricity was being stolen.
“They were stealing electricity through various devices, including tampering with meters, unauthorised connections, washing out meter screens, stopping the reading, reversing and closing meters,” he said.
He said the tampered meters had been removed and complaints had been forwarded to police for registration of cases against them.
