Crackdown: Four suspected militants detained in Kuchlak raid

QUETTA:

At least four suspected militants were rounded up in a pre-dawn raid in suburban Quetta on Monday.

Security forces surrounded Killi Jamalabad village in Kuchlak, on the outskirts of Quetta, and conducted a search operation early in the morning. “Four suspects were detained during the hours-long operation,” an official told The Express Tribune on condition of anonymity. A Taliban commander is among the detained suspects, according to sources.

The Kuchlak police said they were not aware of any search operation or detentions. “We can confirm the operation but do not have any details,” a police officer at Kuchlak police station told The Express Tribune. Security officials neither confirmed nor denied the detentions.

The detained suspects have been shifted to an undisclosed location for questioning. Kuchlak is home to thousands of Afghan refugees and Afghan immigrants, and common citizens try to stay away from the neighbourhood.
