Shot and injured: JUI-F leader attacked in Orangi
Incident took place when he left home to buy some household utensils from a shop nearby

A local leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) survived an attack on his life on Monday. Malik Zar Khan, 30, son of Shamshad Khan, was shot at by at least two assailants on a motorcycle near his residence in MPR Colony, Orangi Town. He was shot at four times and was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment. Orangi Town SHO Tanvir Murad said that the victim used to teach Arabic to children in the area. The incident took place when he left home to buy some household utensils from a shop nearby. He added that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained. Doctors claim that the JUI-F leader was injured but in a stable condition. The police said that they will lodge a case after doctors let them record Khan’s statement.
