Action: CDA continues drive against encroachment
Enforcement teams raze illegal structures.
ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) razed several illegal structures in different sectors during an ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Islamabad.
Teams of the CDA Enforcement Directorate demolished illegal constructions and retrieved CDA land from illegal occupants.
The teams carried out an operation in sector F-12/3 and demolished illegally constructed walls. They also demolished a room and a garage constructed illegally adjacent to government accommodation in Sector G-9/2.
An illegally constructed wall on CDA land in street 53 of Sector F-6/4, four newly constructed boundary walls in Katchi Abadi sector I-11 and one room in Shapper Colony were also razed.
Similarly, three illegally established hotels in areas of Sector D-12 and Haji Camp were also demolished.
In order to remove encroachments from different markets, the Enforcement Directorate carried out operations in Aabpara Market, Melody, Karachi Company, Sitara Market, Jinnah Supper Market, Tipu Market in G-8/2, Abbasia Market in Sector F-8/3, F-11 Markaz and Mughal market I-8/1, and confiscated twelve trucks of encroached material.
CDA Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed directed Deputy Director General Enforcement to devise a strategy to remove encroachments from different markets with the mutual coordination of trade unions so that the anti-encroachment campaign could be made more result oriented.
Ahmed said that the encroachments in the markets are not only causing inconvenience to the people visiting these markets but also disturbing the business of the traders.
He said that the anti-encroachment drive would be accelerated with the consultation of traders. He directed to ensure effective monitoring so that encroachments could not return to the spots cleared during the drive.
