Gas Theft Ordinance: Gas courts declared ineffective
LAHORE:
Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court declared gas utility courts in the Punjab ineffective as the Gas Theft Ordinance had not been legislated as an Act. The verdict said the federal government had not extended the Gas Theft Ordinance 2014. The bill is pending in the Senate. The judge declared gas utility courts ineffective and said all proceedings by the courts will be considered illegal. The high court will circulate the decision among district and session judges.
