Encroachments: SHC orders police to protect land

The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered East DIG, Malir SSP and Sachal SHO to protect the 30-acre land in Sector No 25-A, Scheme 33, Malir, belonging to the Civil Aviation Authority Cooperative Housing Society from land grabbers.


A Sindh High Court bench passed this order on a petition filed by the society's management against illegal. According to the society's administrator, Shamsuddin, the land is meant to provide accommodation for the poor employees of the aviation authority.


The petitioner alleged that a group of men, including Meer Deedar Chandio, Mazhar Malik and Ali Akbar Gabool, have illegally taken over the land and deployed private guards who are harassing the petitioners. He accused SSP Malir Rao Anwar, Sachal SHO Muhammad Shoaib and Malir DC of abetting the encroachers.The hearing was adjourned till January 23 next year.
