Queen sends message of condolence

British Prime Minister David Cameron also writes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD:
Queen Elizabeth II has sent a personal message of condolence to President Mamnoon Hussain to express her sympathies over the tragic December 16 terrorist attack on Army Public School.

“Her Majesty extended her deepest sympathies, and those of the people of the United Kingdom, to all those affected by the tragic events in Peshawar,” according to a press release issued by the British High Commission.

In addition to the letter from the Queen, British Prime Minister David Cameron wrote to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the press release added.


The British Chief of the Defence Staff has written to Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to express the British Armed Forces’ heartfelt sympathy with the victims of Tuesday’s attack.

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, International Development Secretary Justine Greening and Home Secretary Theresa May have also written personal letters of condolence to the people of Pakistan.
