Targeted: FC subedar gunned down on Charsadda Road
Three policemen injured in an IED blast in DI Khan
PESHAWAR/DI KHAN:
A Frontier Corps (FC) subedar was shot dead on Charsadda Road in the jurisdiction of Daudzai police on Friday.
Subedar Mujeeb, a resident of Station Korona, was en route to his home from Balahisar Fort when unidentified motorcyclists ambushed his vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire near Chara Pul, Naguman. The soldier was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
IED blast
Three policemen were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in DI Khan on Friday. Kulachi police official told The Express Tribune the police personnel were en route from Hethala to Kulachi on DI Khan-Tank Road when the bomb went off at Daulat Band. Driver Sher Jan and constables Asif and Mumtaz were injured while the vehicle was partially damaged. They were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital.
Heavy contingents of police reached the site following the attack and cordoned the area off. A search operation was conducted but no arrests were made, added the police official.
