High time: ‘National unity is a need of the hour’
Elahi lauds determination of injured
PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) central leader and former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said national unity is a need of the hour and that terror can only be uprooted once we join hands against the common enemy.
Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Friday, Elahi said militants have attacked the future of the country and should not be spared at any cost. He was accompanied by numerous provincial leaders of the party.
He said collective efforts will soon bear fruit and Pakistan will emerge victorious against militant elements that are not only a threat to us, but to global peace. Elahi said condemnations poured in from everywhere and all eyes are on Pakistan. The country has to implement stringent national security measures in letter and spirit. He urged the provincial government to allocate maximum resources to eradicate militancy.
Elahi said the army has always rendered sacrifices for the country and that the entire nation has thrown its weight behind the forces to take the terrorists down.
During the one-day visit to Peshawar, Elahi visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and also called on Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
