Cairo becomes superhero hotspot
Pictures and videos of a man donned in a Batman costume, around Cairo were posted on Facebook.
It looks like Cairo is now the hottest destination for superheroes. After Spiderman, Gotham city’s Dark Knight, Batman, is roaming around the Egyptian capital, reported Al-Arabiya News.
Pictures and videos of a man donned in a Batman costume and wandering around Cairo were posted on Facebook by Egyptian photographer, Hossam Atef.
Images and video clips which were posted by ‘Batman Egypt’, showed the iconic comic book character dancing on the streets of Cairo, posing in front of iconic buildings and riding a Vespa motorcycle.
Only a few days ago, pictures of a man in a Spiderman costume indulging in the everyday activities of Cairo went viral on the internet. Those pictures had also been taken by Hossam Atef.
Hossam, through the pictures, aimed to highlight several problems people have to endure, such as how the buses don’t stop for passengers, there are constant power cuts, and thousands of people are made to wait at one metro station.
He donned the superhero costume as he was intrigued by the idea of what would happen, “if Spider Man spent a normal day of an Egyptian’s life,” reports the Daily News website.
According to Al-Arabiya News, news of the two youngsters putting a comic spin on the struggles of life in the Egypt came a year after Cairo was ranked 122nd out of a total of 140 cities around the world in the 2013 Global Livability Ranking conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
