SHC judges told to expedite hearings of ATC appeals

Justice Baqir further directed IG Police Sindh to provide security to judges and courts across the province

KARACHI: Following the directions of the Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasirul Mulk to expedite terrorism related cases, judges of the Sindh High Court were directed to expedite hearings of appeals against anti-terror court judgements.

During a full court reference on Thursday, SHC Chief Justice Maqbool Baqir directed all judges of the court to expeditiously decide all appeals against ATC judgments.

Justice Baqir further directed IG Police Sindh to provide security to judges and courts across the province.

The meeting, attended by all the judges, was held after the government decided to lift the moratorium on death penalty.
