PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam - Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Thursday that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)’s act of killing innocent children is a stain on the glorious name of Islam.

Talking to reporters at his party’s provincial headquarters, Maulana Fazl said the heinous act has nothing to do with Jihad and those who have raised arms are not representing Islam.

Fazl said that TTP’s act of attacking school has closed all doors of negotiations and there is no room left for talks. “When medicine fails to show impact, then it is imperative to opt for surgery,” he said.

The JUI-F chief said lives of nation’s innocent sons were mercilessly snatched by terrorists. However, he added, the blood of the innocent children has unified this nation and there is no space for anarchy in national politics.

Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq welcomed the fatwa of over 100 Ulema of Peshawar that for implementation of Sharia there is no need for guns and cannons. Addressing the lawyers of Rawalpindi District Bar Association, he said Islam is a religion of peace and teaches respect for humanity.

Speaking about the disunity among the political parties and people of all provinces, he regretted that the nation has been divided into sects and nationalities.

“No one here says he is a Pakistani. We are divided as Punjabi, Pathan, Balochi and Sindhi,” he said.
