Multan corps to upgrade 31 schools, build 9

MULTAN:

Multan Corps Commander Lieutenant-General Abid Pervez announced plans to renovate 31 schools and build new schools.

Under the project, nine primary schools and higher education institutes would be set up in Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal and Okara. Centres for special children will also be included in the project.

As many as 31 primary and secondary schools would be upgraded.

ISPR regional spokesperson Major Asad told The Express Tribune that work on the project would be completed as soon as possible and admissions would begin in 2015.

Lieutenant General Abid Pervez launched renovations project at Garrison Academy Multan and Combined Military Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences.

He said Al-Noor Army Public School, the biggest institute for special children in the country, would also be renovated. He said Rs10 million had been donated by philanthropists for the school.

He said a sub-campus of the school would be opened in Okara.

Renovation of the Army Public School in Abdul Hakeem in Khanewal started on Monday.

Pervez also laid the foundation stone of a new army public school in Khanewal.

He said the Army Public School in Sahiwal would be upgraded to higher secondary level for students of Okara, Pakpattan and Sahiwal. He said renovations at the school had begun.

He said priority was being given to schools for girls.

Pervez said Pakistan Army would hold seminars at various schools to boost the morale of students and raise awareness of current affairs.
