Govt claim: 2013 elections were fairest, says Rashid

Information Minister says Imran Khan was maligning all including democracy, government and other institutions

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid said on Sunday that general election 2013 was the fairest and most transparent in the country’s history, as for the first time poll rosters having voters’ pictures were used.

He said that PTI chief Imran Khan was maligning all including democracy, government and other institutions. Talking to PTV News, he said the result of this very practice of the PTI chief would have adverse effects on the country.

The minister said if the practice of invading and attacking the system was established in the country, attention from all other important issues, including terrorism, would divert.

If there was any deficiency or irregularity in the election then all the political parties should work collectively to remove them, he added. Pervaiz Rashid urged Imran Khan to come to the parliament and play his part, if he wanted some amendments in the Constitution.

Regarding the report of NADRA about five polling stations of NA 125, the minister said PTI’s Hamid Khan had won from there.
