Self-employment scheme: ‘Bahawalpur to get 7,500 vehicles’
BAHAWALPUR:
Minister for Cooperatives Iqbal Channar said on Sunday that the Chief Minister’s Apna Rozgar Scheme would be launched from Bahawalpur on December 21. He said the first batch of vehicles would be handed over to successful applicants on January 26. He said 7,500 vehicles would be distributed among eligible applicants in Bahawalpur. He was addressing a meeting at the Bahawalpur Circuit House. Channar said the scheme would help unemployed people of the Punjab earn livelihood. Bahawalpur Commissioner Javed Akbar said desks had been set up for applicants to drop their application and to address their concerns. RPO Rai Muhammad Tahir said eligible candidates of the scheme would be given driving classes. The meeting was told that more than 8,000 people had applied for the scheme since applications opened on October 19.
