In the works: Think tank discusses book on Uthmankhel tribe

Scholars, writers and educationists of the tribe are bringing people together to write a book about the tribe.

To discuss the documentation of a book on the history of the Uthmankhel tribe, a think tank met at Research Library Peshawar on Saturday under the supervision of the tribe’s patron-in-chief, Dr Fasihuddin, who is also a Police Service of Pakistan officer.



Scholars, writers and educationists of the tribe are bringing people together to write a book about the tribe. The Uthmankhel think tank is the tribe’s academic body which is committed towards working for the progress, identity, development and welfare of the people of the tribe.

At the meeting, the think tank also discussed various problems being faced by the people of the tribe in Bajaur, Malakand and Mohmand agencies and in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar and Swabi districts.

The meeting was attended by the tribe’s prominent scholars and writers, including professors Fakhrul Islam, Yar Muhammad Toofan and others. The think tank will meet again next month to discuss the progress on the book.
