Motive Unknown: Lady health worker shot, injured
PESHAWAR:
A lady health worker (LHW) was shot in the jurisdiction of Khazana police on Saturday. Tahira Naz, 28, who works as a LHW in a rural health centre in Takhatabad, Daudzai, was standing at a bus stop in Shero Jangi on Charsadda Road when two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at her. She was shot twice and the assailants managed to escape. Locals rushed her to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where her condition was said to stable. Speaking to The Express Tribune, LRH Spokesperson Jamil Shah said Naz sustained a bullet wound on her throat. A police official said that the matter is being investigated.
