Terror bid foiled: Karachi-bound arms cache intercepted

Top cop of the northern Sindh city says arms and ammunition were being smuggled to Karachi

SUKKUR: A huge cache of arms and ammunition being smuggled from Fata to Karachi was intercepted near Sukkur on Friday, Daily Express reported. Police have detained two men charged with the terror ploy and investigation is under way. The top cop of the northern Sindh city, SSP Tanvir Tunio said that the arms and ammunition were being smuggled to Karachi, apparently for a large scale terrorist attack. He added that the weapons were hidden in CNG cylinders of a vehicle. The recovered weapons include rocket launchers, machine guns, Kalashnikovs, repeater shotguns, bullets and grenades.
