Security beefed-up: Pillion riding banned in Karachi
PTI announces to shut down the metropolis by staging 23 sit-ins today
KARACHI:
The Sindh Home Department imposed two days ban on pillion riding in Karachi in the wake of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s sit-ins and chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA). According to the notification issued by the home department late Thursday night the ban will be implemented with effect from Saturday. On the other hand, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar phoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan and DG Rangers and discussed the security arrangement in the wake of PTI event in the city. Though, the PTI has announced to shut down the metropolis by staging 23 sit-ins today (Friday), but workers of the party started staging protests late Thursday night with reports of sit-ins in various areas.
