Border violation: 58 Indian fishermen arrested
Around 400 Pakistani fishermen are in Indian jails and 450 Indian fishermen are in Pakistani jails

The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) arrested 58 Indian fishermen for entering into Pakistani waters on Thursday. The authorities also seized 10 boats. Almost two weeks ago, Pakistani authorities had released 36 Indian prisoners, who had completed their sentences. The fishermen arrested on Thursday were handed over to the police. SHO Docks police station Sajjad Mangi said that the Indian fishermen have been booked under the Fisheries Act of the Foreigners Act. The detained persons will be produced before a court today (Friday) before being sent to the District Jail, Malir, Karachi, Mangi said. The officer said that the police will also interrogate the arrested people to make sure that they were actually fishermen and had no link with any criminal or terrorist activity.
