BDU member injured in twin IED blasts
Khasdar BDU squad were patrolling in the area when they found the IED which exploded while the member was defusing it
An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion injured a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDU) staff member of the Frontier Corps (FC) at Alingar area of Safi, Mohmand Agency on Thursday.
The political administration official at Safi confirmed the incident. He said that the Khasadar force were patrolling in the area when they discovered an IED. FC BDU were called in to defuse it. However, the bomb exploded midway, injuring the squad member. Other force officials, who were on a bike, remained unhurt.
The injured squad member was shifted to the Agency headquarter hospital in Ghallanai for treatment where his position was described as stable.
Following the incident, officials launched a search operation in the area. However, they are yet to report any arrests.
