A public discussion on global politics and cross-intra human relationships was held by the German political foundation, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), during the screening of “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” under its monthly film screening project.
The monthly event features a variety of films and documentaries and offers space for discussing diverse issues. Academics and students came to participate in the discussion held in cooperation with DAAD-Germany and Quaid-i-Azam University. Prof Nukhba Lahnga, chairperson department of English at Forman Christian College Lahore said the way the film brings together ideology and emotion into a vivid picture of an individual’s globalised revolt is astounding. The film is a political thriller based on the novel of the same name by Mohsin Hamid.
FES Country Director Philipp Kauppert said the series allows young women to take part in healthy debates.
