A petition was filed at Lahore High Court on Tuesday against certain officials of the Punjab Education Foundation.
Shoaib Saleem said a team constituted by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had found senior officials of the foundation guilty of embezzlements. He said the team had found that Deputy Managing Director Amir Iftikhar had misappropriated millions of rupees allocated for health insurance. Saleem said Foundation Assisted Schools Director Nadeem Masood had sold books meant to be distributed free among children and MD Aneela Salman had turned a blind eye to the incidents. He said the CM had directed the Anti-Corruption Establishment to register cases against the suspects and relieve them of their duties. Saleem said Schools Secretary Abdul Jabbar Shaheen had been directed to implement the chief minister’s directive. The petitioner asked the court to ensure the implementation of Sharif’s directive.
