GILGIT:
The Gilgit-Baltistan Chinese Overseas Association [G-BCOA] arranged a post Eid party for their fellow citizens who had migrated to Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B). Sponsored by the Chinese Embassy, the party was arranged at a local hotel and was attended by officials of the Chinese Road and Building Company [CRBC], a company currently working on the expansion of the Karakoram Highway.
Chairman G-BCOA, Syed Sultan Agha, thanked the Chinese government for arranging the party and said that such gestures will further strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations in the days to come. China has always taken keen interest in the development of G-B, a region through which Pakistan is connected to China via the karakoram Highway, he said.
Secretary General of the G-BCOA, Adur Rehman Bukhari, termed the gathering as a chance to ‘develop understanding between the people of the two countries’. Representatives of the G-BCOA and the
media were also present at the occasion.
