Dark Words: History could repeat itself, says Siraj

If the political leadership does not act prudently, the country might see a repeat of 1977, Jamat-i-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq said on Monday. He was alluding to the Pakistan National Alliance movement in 1977 to overthrow then prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He requested the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf not to resort to violence. He asked them to opt for dialogue instead. The JI chief was speaking at Mansoora. He said the government had said time and again that the country was incurring financial loss to the tune of more than Rs64 billion each day because of the sit-ins.
