For shame: Couple killed for ‘honour’

HAFIZABAD:
A girl and her husband were shot dead over ‘honour’ in Hafizabad on Monday. Police said Akbar Ali*, a resident of Model Town, had eloped with Saima on November 24.
They said after they got married, Ali took her to his aunt’s house in Madina Colony.
Police said Saima had been engaged to her cousin Mushtaq Suleman.
They said her father Naveed, fiancé Suleman and two unidentified had men shot and killed the couple on Monday morning as they were leaving the house.
Both of them died on the spot.
The suspects fled from the scene firing shots in the air. Police took the bodies to the morgue for autopsy. They said a team had been formed to find and arrest the suspects.
