LAHORE:

Operations DIG Haider Ashraf on Sunday ordered stern action to check the rising incidents of robberies, extortion and vehicle theft.

He was chairing a meeting at Qila Gujjar Singh.

He said that coordinated efforts were needed to deal with the threat posed by terrorists. “We can deal with the security threats if we perform our duties with dedication and courage,” he said.

Ashraf expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of Chuhng, Sattukatla, Township, Hanjarwal, Mustafa Town and Township SHOs. The Raiwind, Sundar and Sattukatla SHOs were issued show-cause notices. The DIG appreciated the performance of the Manga Mandi SHO.

He directed the SHOs to beef up security ahead of the chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
