Curbing crime: ‘Rapists’ arrested in raid
BAHAWALPUR:
Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested three men who had raped a mentally disabled girl last week. Derawar Station House Officer Imran Bhatti said Ghulam Shabbir told them that his seven-year-old daughter was alone at home when some men broke in and raped her. Bhatti said the medical report confirmed the rape. He said the suspects were arrested in a raid and presented before the court of the area magistrate. Bhatti said the men had been remanded in police custody for four days. He said DNA tests were being conducted and would be sent to Lahore for results.
