The former lawmaker is a first cousin of Benazir Bhutto
SUKKUR:
The Larkana police on Sunday registered an FIR against more than 200 people, including former Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Shahid Hussain Bhutto, on charges of holding a rally on Saturday against the government and for shouting provocative slogans against Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
Shahid Hussain, a first cousin of Benazir Bhutto, and his supporters staged a protest on Saturday night against the police raid that took place at his residence on late Wednesday night. The rally began from his residence in Sachal Colony and marching through the main roads of the city and shouting slogans against the government, culminated in a demonstration at Jinnah Bagh Chowk.
On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, a heavy contingent of police barged into Shahid Hussain's house. They went around the house and took away his sons and guards without saying a word about the reason of their arrest. Bhutto believes that the raid was an act of political victimisation against him.
