Police arrest 77 suspects, seize ammunition in Karachi raids

Fifteen suspects belong to banned religious outfits and political parties

KARACHI: Karachi police arrested 77 suspects and seized ammunition and stolen goods in multiple raids during last 24 hours, Express News reported on Sunday.

Police said at least 15 arrested suspects belonged to banned religious outfits and political parties.

The raids were conducted in Landhi, Pakistan Colony, New Karachi, Tariq Road area, Defence and Mujahid Colony.

Police claimed those arrested were wanted criminals in cases of target killing and other crimes.

I am not seeing much reporting of violence in Karachi. Few months ago there were reports of 10 to 15 people being killed by target killing. It looks like the operation in Karachi has been successful. Can someone from Karachi confirm?
