Petition filed: FIA challenges bail of human traffickers
6 accused involved in human trafficking scandal of illegal travel of 19 Afghan nationals to the UK
ISLAMABAD:
Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed an appeal for cancellation of bail of all six accused involved in the human trafficking scandal of illegal travel of 19 Afghan nationals to the UK. SIU filed appeal before Lahore High court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench against the judgment of Special Court Rawalpindi taking the plea that cancellation of bail is essential for probing real facts in the case. Reliable FIA sources informed Express Investigation Cell that the investigation team is also working to recover huge amount of about Rs50 million which was bribed. Reportedly Rs2.5 million were received as bribe from each accused Afghan national for this illegal travel to UK.
