Pakistan Army held a ceremony in Lahore to pay tribute to Major Shabbir Sharif martyred in the 1971 war with India, Express News reported on Saturday.
The army arranged the ceremony for the Nishaan-e-Haider holder - Pakistan’s highest military award - at the Miani Sahib graveyard.
General Commanding officer Major General Fida Hussain laid floral wreaths on the martyr's grave on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
Fateha was also offered for the army official who served from 1964-71.
Officers who had worked with Major Sharif earlier, were also present at the ceremony to honour the services of the martyred.
His spouse attended the event as well in order to pay tribute to his husband's sacrifices.
