Sports facilities: Grounds to be built for polo, tent pegging
DCO says Rs50 million would be spent on the project in the first phase

District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal said on Friday that a tent pegging stadium and a polo ground would be built on Jail Road in a joint venture by the city government and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).
He said Rs50 million would be spent on the project in the first phase. Mengal held a meeting with UAF Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan at his office. Finance EDO Mahr Muhammad Ramazan and Assistant Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa were also present.
The DCO and the vice-chancellor examined the building plan.The meeting was told that the stadium and the polo ground would be built on 10 acres. It was told that more land was available if needed. Mengal said a riding school would also be opened under the project.
