Talking to The Express Tribune on Thursday, lawyer Shahbaz Gurmani said unknown gunmen fired gunshots near his residence a night earlier before dropping a threatening letter at his doorstep. The letter, which used an IS letterhead, said Gurmani’s movement was being monitored and warned the lawyer of serious consequences if he continues to pursue the case.
Gurmani said he informed the police of the threat immediately following the incident. Upon his complaint, the police deputed an official to provide him round-the-clock security, he added.
When contacted, Multan CPO Chaudhry Sultan Alam said Gurmani’s security detail now comprised two policemen. He confirmed that one policeman had already been deputed for the lawyer’s security. In addition to that, the police’s Muhafiz Squad would also patrol Gurmani’s neighbourhood regularly, he said.
The official added that an FIR against unknown miscreants has also been registered.

Round-the-clock police security? The poor lawyer must be more terrified of being murdered by his own security now, a la Salman Taseer.
He is brave man to have taken up defending a blasphemy accused.
this means local factor is active and how it is possible that police,and agencies doesn't know but are still giving benefit of doubt to well linked people to whom they can't touch.Other could be media gimmick.
I dont think IS is in Pakistan - Tribune keeps publishing these items as 'news' just for sensationalism, it is becoming like the 'News of the World' or 'The Sun' type newpaper of Pakistan (minus page 3)! Anyone could have just written a letter to get some attention of media or to divert attention to IS inseatd of his crimre so Et type newpapers can say .. '' ooh IS is here''!!
How do I know this letter is not written and distributed by some member of the ET just so that it can be called a news and for fear mongring! Just like ET has been bending backwards to prove there is Ebola in Pakistan with any person suffering from a minor cold returning from Africa? Please investigate properly and then report! Even I can write (and make up) better stories than this..

I have already seen the same image of letter in the earlier post of local news sites, a week ago. I think that the suspect is un-identified yet as you all know our Law enforcement agencies and the writer Mr. Owais Qarni attached that image with this post to attract the readers. I thinks it is a not a right way.
