Drugs don’t work: Expired medicines seized
The storekeeper had kept no inventory of the medicines or information on the actual supplier

Anti-corruption authorities seized a sizable quantity of unrecorded and expired medicines from the pharmacy of King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra.
He added there had been complaints that the hospital was using local medicines rather than those approved through a tender and made by established manufacturers.

Anti-corruption authorities seized a sizable quantity of unrecorded and expired medicines from the pharmacy of King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra.
The medicines were donated by a non-governmental organisation, said official sources.
Based on an intelligence report, the anti-corruption department’s assistant director in Hazara, Ayaz Khan, accompanied by drug inspector Kashif Tanoli, raided the pharmacy and seized a large quantity of injections, tablets, capsules and syrups of local and multinational pharmaceutical companies.
According to Ayaz Khan, the storekeeper had kept no inventory of the medicines or information on the actual supplier.
Khan told journalists the storekeeper also kept expired medicines and was unable to provide a satisfactory response about the lack of a record on the drugs.
He added there had been complaints that the hospital was using local medicines rather than those approved through a tender and made by established manufacturers.
