Heinous crime: Mentally ill woman ‘raped’
She was found in a field with three men by some people from the search party.
BAHAWALPUR:
A mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped on Wednesday.
Police said Ghulam Shabbir, a resident of Chak-44DNB, told them that he was out of town on Tuesday to attend a funeral.
He said when he returned on Wednesday morning, he saw that his 20-year-old daughter was not at home. He said asked some neighbours to help him search for her.
He said she was found in a field with three men by some people from the search party. He said the girl had fainted and Rafiq, Bilal and Ameen were seen raping her.
He said when the men saw people approaching, they fled. He said his daughter was covered in blood and could not speak. He said they had taken her to a hospital for treatment where her condition was stated to be serious. Derawar police registered a case Shabbir’s complaint. They said a team had been formed to investigate the case. They said they were awaiting the medico-legal report before making arrests.
