Succumbed to injuries: Cop injured in airport attack dies
Militants kill at least 27 people in the attack, including Airport Security Force personnel
KARACHI:
A police constable who was injured in the attack on Jinnah International Airport on June 8 passed away on Wednesday. The militants had killed at least 27 people, including Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel in the attack. The 10 attackers were subsequently killed by security forces. The deceased police constable was identified as Liaquat Ali. He was posted to the Sindh Reserve Police. Officials from the police said that he was injured during a fight with the militants and since then had been admitted at Aga Khan University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The funeral prayers were offered at Police Headquarters, Garden, which was attended by his family, friends and a large number of police officials. The deceased was laid to rest at the PIB Colony graveyard.
