Bodies sent to Levies Centre for identification
TIRAH VALLEY:
The bullet-riddled bodies of eight suspected militants have been found in Tirah Valley where the military is battling insurgent groups, officials said on Wednesday.
Troops recovered the eight corpses late Tuesday after they were spotted by local residents in the Khyber tribal district, where Taliban and Lashkar-e-Islam fighters are based.
Five bodies were recovered from one place and three from another, a senior government official in Khyber told AFP on condition of anonymity.
A second official in Khyber confirmed the recovery.
The bodies were shifted to Levies Centre in Shah Kas for identification.
Earlier on November 18, eight people were also found dead in various areas of Nowshera district and Khyber Agency.
Residents of the areas had spotted the corpses in a small thicket and informed the police.
An official of the Risalpur police had said that the men was poisoned according to initial investigations.
