Science and technology: World Space Week 2014 commences at UET
University administration is planning to establish two more campuses in Upper Dir and Chitral says UET Vice Chancellor

World Space Week, 2014 commenced at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Tuesday.
UET Vice Chancellor Imtiaz Hussain Gilani was the chief guest at the event which is being held in collaboration with Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). He highlighted the importance of gaining knowledge of outer space to develop an understanding of how to use space technology in academic and practical fields.
He added the university administration is planning to establish two more campuses in Upper Dir and Chitral. The new campuses are being planned so that engineering education can be delivered to the people there, said Gilani.
SUPARCO Deputy Director General Amin Bahadur briefed the audience about World Space Week and SUPARCO’s activities. He said the week is celebrated globally to create awareness on space sciences and technology and their contribution for the betterment of the human condition. He said the week has commenced at UET with an overarching theme, ‘Space: Guiding your way’.
