The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) of Rawalpindi on Tuesday announced a 14 per cent decrease in public transport fares after the federal government substantially reduced prices of petroleum products. RTA Secretary Owais Manzoor said new fare-lists had been issued to transporters of the twin cities, which will be effective from December 2.
The authority, he said, had constituted monitoring teams to ensure implementation of new fares. Both old and new fare lists, he added, had been affixed at all public transport terminals. He said passengers could register their complaints regarding the fare on the toll free number 051-9270011 round-the-clock.
