KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said on Monday that in the last one year, at least 100 of its activists were killed while 24 were abducted and then found dead. The party called a press conference at the Khursheed Begum Secretariat after the body of its worker Mohammad Sajid was found dumped in Malir on Monday. According to the Coordination Committee member Kunwar Naveed Jamil, the worker was whisked away by police officials in a double cabin vehicle from the parking lot of the airport when he was leaving for Dubai, and only three hours later was found strangled with a rope around his neck. The MQM leader blamed the police for the death. Following the press conference, IG Police Ghulam Hyder Jamali directed SSP Malir, Rao Anwar to submit a report over the matter within 24 hours.
