200 levies officials protest in South Waziristan against non-payment of allowances
Levies official says govt owes 90,000 to each protester
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN:
Around 200 levies officials organised a protest in Tank district of South Waziristan against non-payment of their allowances, Express News reported on Monday.
“The government owes 90,000 to each one of us,” a levies official said, explaining they had not been paid for past five years.
The protesters lamented government's failure to give levies officials their rights.
The upset mob also blocked access to the offices of the area's political agent and his assistant, while sending away officials who came to negotiate with them.
