Perilous Route: One killed in road accident

MUZAFFARABAD: One person was killed and four others injured in a road accident near Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as an ambulance fell into a deep ravine, the police said. According to a police official, the ambulance driver swerved his vehicle while trying to avoid a head-on collision with three speeding motorcyclists coming from the opposite side near Kapa Gala Samhani. The driver of the ambulance lost control of the vehicle after which it fell into the ravine, killing driver Gul Nawaz on the spot and injuring Umar Iyaz, Shahzad, Hamza Mehdi and Nisar Gull. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where doctors termed their condition to be out of danger. The ambulance was on its way back to Bhimber after dropping a patient in Samhani.
