Poet Amir Hamza Shinwari remembered

A large gathering of poets, intellectuals, and admirers commemorated the death anniversary of renowned Pashto poet Amir Hamza Khan Shinwari, fondly known as "Baba-e-Ghazal", in his birthplace of Landi Kotal.
The event, held at the local venue, featured prominent poet and writer Abasin Yousafzai as the chief guest, alongside Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari and other notable figures. Participating poets included Yar Muhammad Ma'mum, Asir Mangal, senior journalists Shams Mehmood and Ibrahim Shinwari, Nisar Khalil, Professor Tawab Shah Masroor, Masroor Sajjad Shinwari, Faisal Shinwari, and several poets from Afghanistan such as Watan Afghan, Basir Bedar, and Stori, among many others who attended in large numbers.
During the mushaira and tribute ceremony, poets recited ghazals and verses in memory of Amir Hamza Khan Shinwari, paying homage to his life, literary contributions, and enduring legacy in Pashto literature. Known for pioneering modern Pashto ghazal and bridging classical and contemporary styles.
